  Very rude staff in the restaurant,we went to have dinner and in the town there is only two places to eat. When we entered at 8:37 the waiter mentioned they stopped to serve dinner just 5 minutes before. The restaurant was full and it was Saturday night,he didn't even care, at least in the other pub the owner explained how to get to the next open restaurant in a town 5 minutes away.

  So much history surrounding the area. The village itself has appeared in numerous movies and films. Very nice place to come and have a bite to eat and a drink. Highly recommended

  A lovely, intimate, quintessentially English village pub. The location - Castle Combe - is an exquisitly picturesque village; quiet, peaceful stone houses, surrounded by woodland and the sound of birdsong. The pub itself sits in the centre of the village, next to the church and an ancient monument. However, inside it has been carefully decorated throughout to provide unique charm and character in different areas of the establishment, offering a blend of contemporary and traditionalist cottage-like atmospheres. The food is well priced, though slightly inflated to account for atmosphere and the isolated rural location. Food selection is good, typical pub food, but unfortunately the service is a little slow. Parking is limited in the village, but there is plenty of roadside parking available to the north of the village - approximately a 3-5 minute walk from the pub. Reservations for dinner are recommended.
